Jimmy grew up in the area of Dublin Port and the River Liffey. From an early age he became aware of the large amounts of detrimental and damaging waste travelling down the River and into Dublin Bay, he has operated at a senior level in the marine sector for many years and has a vast knowledge of floating marine infrastructure and marine waste logistics. Using this knowledge, he developed innovative solutions to tackle the accumulation of aquatic debris. This includes the adaptation of a vessel to essentially sweep up floating debris from the River surface which along with other ancillary infrastructure is currently operating to combat the scourge of waste in the marine environment.
