Caoimhín works as an Inspector in the EPA’s Office of Environmental Enforcement, in the National Waste Enforcement Team. This particular enforcement team has a national remit in relation to waste regulation. He has over 20 years experience with the EPA in dealing with the enforcement of waste management sites. Caoimhín currently works with the local OEE Enforcement teams, the WERLAs and other stakeholders to monitor trends in the waste sector, and to implement measures to improve regulatory compliance. He has been involved in project work to improve compliance and work practices in the areas of landfill cover, waste pre-treatment, waste storage practices and fire risk management at waste transfer stations. He is presently working on a project to study the Nature and Extent of Waste Crime in Ireland.
